We recently launched our new cloud hosting platform, CloudActiv, and you’ll have heard us talk a lot about Active-Active technology. But what is it, and how does it benefit your business?
Active-Active architecture is essentially two cloud platforms, linked together, running simultaneously.
Any data or online assets that are saved to, modified, or updated on the primary platform, are automatically replicated to a secondary platform. These two platforms, which should be separated geographically, then run identically to provide synchronised hosting environments - and your data can be served from either of these platforms at any given time.
This means that if the primary hosting location goes down, another instantly takes over and your resources remain up and running without any disruption or downtime.
It essentially eliminates the risk of downtime, through continuous availability via an automatic failover.
How is CloudActiv different?
A lot of cloud providers will offer this service, but many will provide it at a significant additional cost. We believe that this is what cloud should be, as standard. So we’re offering the solution to all our customers, across the board at no extra cost.
Why? Well for us, it means we can provide a truly resilient cloud platform for our customers. It means we can save our customers the time consuming, resource draining overheads that come with building, testing and maintaining a secondary site. We’ve done it for you.
For you, it means a more robust cloud, cost savings, and built in disaster recovery. It means peace of mind. You’ll also have access to UK-based support from our in-house VMware-certified cloud professionals.
We’ve built all of this so that customers are covered from day one. There are no complex configuration routines, and no lengthy invocation processes to be concerned about. Failover is automatic, and instant.
It’s premium cloud hosting with built-in DR - as standard.
It’s what cloud should be.
